MEETING RECAP 1/04/17
 
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 4 January 2017.  Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved.  The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, David Maddock, Lori Troise, Brandon Youngblood, Janice Garcia, Sam Garcia, Yolanda Risch, Laureano Flores and Chuck Church.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00.   
 
Per the agenda, the minutes of the November Board meeting were read by Janice Garcia.  The minutes were approved.  There were no minutes for December due to the fact that the Board Meeting was superseded by the District Governor’s visit.  Tina Borzage presented the Treasurer’s reports for November and December.  The reports were both approved. 
 
The Club covered the final details to close out the Christmas Shopping Spree.  This included resolution of all receipts from the event. 
 
The Club covered finalization of our donation to Valerie Lensing for her children’s project at Manzanita Elementary School and the Palmdale Learning Center.  The Club will be donating $400 and individual Club Members Chuck Church, Sam & Janice Garcia, Brandon Youngblood and Lori Troise will be donating $100 each for a total of $800 from the Rotary Club of Palmdale. 
 
The Club finalized its approval of a $200 donation to Rotaplast for the 2016-2017 year.  The Club approved $100 and Chuck Church donated an additional $100 to up the total to $200.
 
Sharon Freeman and Tina Borzage will work together to obtain the names of our two students who will be attending RYLA.  Two positions have already reserved online for our students.
 
The review of upcoming events included: PETS: February 10-12 at the LA Marriott, President’s Advance: February 24-26 at the Palm Springs Hilton, BODTS: March 18 at TBD, District Assembly: April 22 at the Sitting Bull Academy in Apple Valley, and District Conference: May 17-22 at the Palm Springs Hilton.  Donna Tremier (Field Representative for Kathryn Barger, LA County Supervisor) will be invited to our January 25th Club Meeting.  Chuck Church will coordinate with Veronica Jordan from Walmart to join us that evening as well to receive recognition for supporting our Christmas Shopping Spree.
 
All transfers of funds between the Trust Account and the General Account were voted on an approved by the Club as were reimbursements and donations.
