Meeting Recap 02/01/17
 
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 1 February 2017.  Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved.  The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, David Maddock, Lori Troise, Brandon Youngblood, Janice Garcia, Sam Garcia and Chuck Church.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 6:55.   
 
Per the agenda, the minutes of the January Board meeting were read by Janice Garcia.  The minutes were approved.  Tina Borzage presented the Treasurer’s report for January.  The report was approved. 
 
Chuck Church briefed the Club on upcoming events including: PETS (Feb. 10-11), District Assembly (Apr. 22) and our Spring Blowout Sale at 4 Points (April 9).  Chuck also mentioned that there is an event coming up at Antelope Valley College (Job Fair/Information Fair) related to law enforcement.  Randy Pote (former District Governor) is asking all six Antelope Valley Rotary Clubs to participate.  The event will run from 8-2 on March 10th.  Each club will need to bring their banner, some door prizes and some volunteers to help with registration and cooking lunch. 
 
It was mentioned that candidates for next year’s Officers (2017-2018) need to be loaded in DACdb by 1 February 2017.  Sam will load the data.
 
There was one item of Old Business:
 
Veronica Jordan has still not responded to the emails sent by Chuck Church to attend our meeting on February 8th or February 15th.  Chuck will continue to try to contact her at Walmart.
 
There was one item of New Business:
 
The Rosamond Club will be holding their Sheriff’s Appreciation Dinner on March 11, 2017.  The cost is $30 with raffle tickets selling for $10 for an AR-15.
