Meeting Recap 02/13/19

The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at an alternate site this week.  Sizzler’s Restaurant was booked for a Valentine’s event, so the Club had to meet at El Toreo West in Palmdale on 13 February 2019.  The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, Vickie Ryan, Don Ryan and Sam Garcia.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM.

Sharon Freeman updated the Club on the status of RYLA camp registration.  She delivered application for our Interact attendees to Joy McCall the student coordinator at Pete Knight High School.  Sharon asked Joy to have the applications filled out, signed and returned by February 22, 2019.  This will allow us to go online and complete the formal registration.  RYLA Camp is scheduled for 29-31 March 2019.  Facilitators are needed for the event.
Each of the merging Clubs needs to review their current By Laws and present a red-lined version that will be used to generate a new set of By Laws for the upcoming 2019-2020 Rotary year.

Vickie and Don Ryan presented their list of activities for the balance of the year and their current budget for the Club to review.  Don recommended that we have a Vice President assigned to be in charge of morning, noon and night time meetings in order to keep things coordinated.  Everyone thought that this was a good idea.

President Sam Garcia’s birthday is coming up this weekend.  As a result, the restaurant provided a dessert for Sam and everyone sang Happy Birthday.  Pictures are attached.
