Meeting Recap 02/15/17

The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 15 February 2017.  The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Sam Garcia, Janice Garcia, David Maddock, Tina Borzage, Brandon Youngblood, Lori Troise and Chuck Church.   Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 6:55.

Sam Garcia briefed the Club on the highlights of PETS from the previous weekend.  The main point of interest was that the future District Governor visits would include all clubs in the Antelope Valley rather than a visit to each individual club.  Sam mentioned that clubs need to be flexible in their dues structure in order to bring in millennials as new members.  The importance of Social Media was also stressed during the training sessions.  Sam will give the Club a more detailed briefing at a future meeting.

There was no update on the status of our two RYLA students.  The date of the Rotary/RYLA Parents meeting has not yet been determined.

The Club’s upcoming Spring Blowout Sale is scheduled for April 9, 2017 at Four Points.  Chuck has requested a booth at the Swap Meet.  Joyce Bruce (Owner) will see that we get a very good location.  Everyone needs to continue to gather goods for the sale.
