Meeting Recap 04/26/17
 
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 26 April 2017.  The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were: Tina Borzage, Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Yolanda Risch, Laureano Flores, guest speaker Carlos Mota and Chuck Church.   Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 6:45.   
 
The first order of business was to introduce guest speaker Carlos Mota from Logix Federal Credit Union.  Mr. Mota briefed the Club on the advantages of banking with Logix which included lower interest rates on loans and higher interest rates on savings.  Mr. Carlos passed out marketing gifts to the Club Members as well as his business card.  He welcomed everyone to visit the credit union’s new location. 
 
The second item of business was to brief the Club on the information obtained at District Assembly.  Tina briefed the club on information from the Secretary’s Meeting.  Chuck Church briefed the Club on the updates to the 2017 – 2018 Grant Review Process and the Rotary Foundation.  Three types of grants were discussed: Global Grants,
District 5300 Grants and Lefler Grants.  It is expected that our Club will apply for a District 5300 Grant in 2017-2018.
 
The next order of business was to discuss the upcoming Demotion Party.  It was decided to wait until more Members were present to select a date and time.    
 
Old Business:
     The AV Sunrise Rotary Sunday Funday Auction is coming up on 30 April at the AV
     Country Club.  Tickets are $45 each or $75 per couple.
       
New Business:
     There was no New Business.
