Meeting Recap 05/16/18
 
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 16 May 2018.  The meeting was called to order by Sam Garcia at 6:36 PM.  Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Chuck Church, Holly Liebenow, Tina Borzage, Yolanda Risch and guest Jim Micelli.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00.
 
Guest and longtime friend Jim Micelli was introduced by President Sam Garcia. 
 
Sharon Freeman presented a draft letter to Pauline East regarding the Animal Shelter and our desire to help Pauline’s Foundation support the shelter.  The Club Members approved the contents of the letter.  Sharon gave Sam the letter to sign before mailing. 
 
Sharon Freeman reported on the AV Sunrise Rotary Sunday Funday event.  It was a successful fundraiser with several tables of auction items.  Funds raised at the event go to support the Yellen School. 
 
Bobby O’s Music Festival is coming up on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Grange.  There will be several bands, lots of food and performances by the kids.  
 
Sam Garcia reviewed the weekly emails from District and International.  District Conference is coming up on 18-20 May at the Queen Mary.  The International Convention is coming up on 24-27 June in Toronto, Canada. 
 
Sharon Freeman discussed the notification we received for maintaining our domain name (palmdalerotary.org) for the club.  The Club decided to sign up for the 3-year plan versus the optional 5-year or 8-year plan.   
 
Old Business:      
     There was no Old Business. 
        
New Business: 
     Under New Business, Sam Garcia mentioned that the 2018-2019 District Governor’s visit
     would be on February 6, 2019.
