Meeting Recap 07/18/18

The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 18 July 2018.  The meeting was called to order by Sam Garcia at 6:40 PM.  Members in attendance were: Janice Garcia, Chuck Church, Tina Borzage, Sharon Freeman and Sam Garcia.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 6:45 PM.

David Maddock is still recovering at home.  He is gradually regaining his strength.  We were unable to contact him by phone this week to get an update.

Sharon Freeman briefed the Club Members on the latest information regarding Oktoberfest.  Tickets for both the event and special raffle have been distributed.  The Club is still deciding on whether to switch from roast pork to roast chicken for the event.  Two tickets have been sold and paid for the event.  We are looking into the feasibility of providing a van again this year.
Sam Garcia mentioned that he had received an email from John Chase requesting stories and pictures of our club events.  Chuck Church mentioned that he had received the same email.  All our stories a available on the website.  Sam also mentioned the need to grow our club.  Our limited membership makes it difficult to take on new projects.

Tina Borzage will be emailing out invoices for the first half of the 2018-2019 Rotary year.

The Club has not made a commitment to provide funds to Antelope Elementary School this year.  We have told them in the past that we cannot sustain their music program indefinitely.
