Meeting Recap 08/09/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 9 August 2017. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:32 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Tina Borzage, Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Yolanda Risch, Larry Flores, RYLA Students Priscilla Gomez and Daniel Cuyate and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
The first item of business was to have our RYLA students brief the Club Members on their time at RYLA Camp. Daniel and Priscilla, both students at Lancaster High School and 16 years of age, briefed the Club Members on their adventure at RYLA Camp. They both enjoyed the weekend and met a lot of new friends. They learned several lessons about leadership and team building.
The second item of business was to discuss the immediate need for instruments and supplies for Bobby Oh at Antelope Elementary School. Sharon Freeman provided an itemized list of instruments and supplies along with prices. The Club asked her to see of Bobby Oh could get a reduced rate on the instruments and supplies through his contacts. Sharon agreed to contact Bobby.
