The first regularly scheduled item of business was to introduce the students and teacher from Knight High School who will be forming a Rotary Interact Club.  President Sam Garcia first introduced Barbara Frazier to everyone.  Barbara related her experience with Interact Clubs at Lancaster High School.  Clubs began as very small groups and expanded in size as more and more students got involved.  Sam then introduced Luanne Arredondo to the group and she discussed what was available on line through Rotary to support both new and existing Interact Clubs.  Sam then introduced Joy McCall from Knight High School.  Joy will be the on-site Teacher Representative at the High School for the new Interact Club.  Each of the students introduced themselves to those present.  Joy and Sharon Freeman will be in contact with each other to set up initial meetings to get the club started.

The second item of business was to discuss the latest updates for the upcoming Oktoberfest in September.  David and Gracie will be preparing the pork and gravy.  Sam and Janice will be preparing the sausage, will stock the bar and obtain the German Chocolate cake.  Sharon will be preparing the potato salad.  Janice will check on the supplies that we have on hand and make a list of what is needed to have at next week’s meeting.

Sharon Freeman provided an update on the purchase of musical instruments and equipment for Antelope Elementary School.  Bobby Oh was able to obtain all the instruments and equipment on our “needs” list for $1,200.00 by using his connections in the music industry.  Tina provided the necessary check to Sharon to give to Bobby Oh and Chuck reimbursed the Club for the $1,200.00.
