Meeting Recap 09/06/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 6 September 2017. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:32 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Chuck Church, Larry Flores, Yolanda Risch, guest Holly Liebenow and Sam Garcia. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
Per the agenda, the minutes of the August Board meeting were read by Sam Garcia for Janice Garcia. The minutes were approved.
Chuck Church presented the August Treasurer’s Report for Tina Borzage. The report was approved.
The primary item of discussion for the evening was the upcoming Oktoberfest. Sharon Freeman updated the Club on the status of ticket sales. We are approaching 150 paid attendees. Discussion focused on how much food to prepare. In the past there has been a typical 30% “no show” number. However, the Club agreed to it was safer to have too much food than not enough, so the Club will prepare food for 150 guests. Tickets for the special raffle are currently at 43 of 50 tickets sold. The Club again reviewed who was preparing and bringing what particular food. Most details have been solidified. The Club will make final decisions at next week’s meeting.
Sharon Freeman brought the Club up to date on the status of the Knight High School Interact Club. Sharon has met with Joy McCall and paperwork is being prepared for submittal to Rotary.
