Meeting Recap 09/27/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 27 September 2017. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:35 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Tina Borzage, Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
The first item of business was to discuss the upcoming Bubble Lady event for the children. Tina Borzage has spoken with Valerie Lensing and the tentative date for the event is October 9th. This is a Monday and is also Columbus Day. We will have to follow up on whether that day will be a holiday or not.
The next item of business was to discuss AV Rotaries supporting each other for their events. Sam Garcia mentioned that Lancaster West has a Steak & Lobster dinner event coming up on the 29th of October from 12:30 to 4:00 PM. Lancaster Rotary has their annual Chili Cookoff and Car Show coming up at Fox Field on the 28th of October from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Our club will be participating in the event. Sharon Freeman will prepare the chili for Palmdale.
The final item of business was to review Tina Borzage’s work sheet on income and expenses from Oktoberfest. We did very well at the event and everyone was pleased with the results.
