Meeting Recap 01/03/18
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 3 January 2018. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:36 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Chuck Church, Tina Borzage, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. The formal meeting began at 6:50 PM.
With Janice Garcia being absent, the Minutes were not read.
Tina Borzage presented the November and December Treasurer’s Reports. The reports were approved.
The first items for general discussion were the upcoming events. Sam Garcia presented details on the President’s Advance (Feb 22-23) and Foundation Gala (Feb 24).
The next item of discussion was the status of the Interact Club Tee Shirts. Chuck Church displayed the new Interact Club Tee Shirts to the Club Members and presented them to Sharon Freeman to deliver to the Interact Club Members at their next meeting.
The third item of discussion was the recommendation by David Maddock for everyone to be thinking about another fundraiser event to help support the Club and to get our Palmdale Rotary name into the Community.
Chuck will contact DG Raghada Khoury to obtain the list of Corporations and Organizations that support and fund non-profit Clubs. This was mentioned at the December District Governor meeting.
Old Business:
The upcoming Spring Blowout Sale at 4 Points was discussed. The recommended
dates that were suggested were April 8, 15, or 22. Chuck Church will contact Joyce
Bruce to reserve one of those dates.
