Meeting Recap 10/03/18
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 03 October 2018. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 6:58 PM.
Secretary Janice Garcia read the Minutes from the September meeting. The Minutes were approved.
Tina Borzage presented the September Treasurer’s Report. The report was approved.
The Board reviewed Tina’s preliminary report on Oktoberfest. The Club made over $4,000 for the event. Sharon Freeman presented an overview on the event. Next year the Club should consider skipping chicken and pork in favor of Brats and another specialty item (Pretzel & Cheese dip, etc.) Sam Garcia still has $125 in revenue to be turned in for Special Raffle Tickets.
Sharon Freeman presented an update for our Interact Club. She wants the Interact Club Board Members to attend one of our Club Meetings and have Barbara Frazier in attendance to brief the new Interact Club Members on what is expected of them as part of Rotary. Our Club whole heartedly agreed. Sharon will coordinate with Barbara to set up a date for the Interact Club to attend.
President Sam Garcia covered weekly emails and indicated that our Club will not be participating in TLC this coming year. We will be focusing on RYLA.
