MEETING RECAP 10/05/16
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 5 October 2016. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, David Maddock, Lori Troise, Janice Garcia, Sam Garcia and Chuck Church. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
Per the agenda, the minutes of the September Board meeting were read by Janice Garcia. The minutes were approved. Tina Borzage presented the Treasurers report for September. The report was approved.
Sharon Freeman went over details for the upcoming Oktoberfest. Assignments were reconfirmed. Ticket sales are very close to 100. We will plan accordingly for 125 meals to include the volunteers and the band.
There was no Old Business.
Under New Business: Chuck confirmed the date of October 12th for Wen Chen to brief the Club on the status of Human Rights in China. Laureano Flores will also be visiting the Club on October 12th. Laureano is looking to transfer his membership from the Wilmington Club to Palmdale. Jerry Tambe is scheduled to brief the Club on the details of the Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarship Sponsorship on October 19th.
