Meeting Recap 10/11/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 11 October 2017. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:35 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Tina Borzage, Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Roseanna Budd, guest Jim Micelli and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
Jim Micelli was introduced to the Club Members again and is always welcome to attend on any Wednesday that he is in the Palmdale area.
The first item of business was to discuss the Bubble Lady event for the children at Manzanita Pre-School. Sharon and Janice attended the event with Valerie Lensing and the Principal from the Palmdale Discovery Center, Colleen Sawyer. The Bubble Lady put on two entertaining and interactive shows for the preschoolers.
The Club will be participating in the Lancaster Chili Cookoff and Car Show on October 28th. Sharon Freeman will be preparing the chili. Everyone should plan to be at Fox Field between 7:30 and 8:00 AM on the 28th. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Sam Garcia mentioned that Lancaster West has a Steak & Lobster dinner event coming up on the 29th of October from 12:30 to 4:00 PM.
The final item of business was to discuss the event the Club will be having for our new Interact Club from Knight High School. We will have a pizza feed at Sam and Janice’s home next Wednesday rather than the regular Club meeting. We will plan on a 6:30 start and expect between 6 & 7 members of the Interact Club to attend.
