Meeting Recap 10/17/2018
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 17 October 2018. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were Chuck Church, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, Janice Garcia, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM.
Randy Pote was unable to make the meeting to brief the Club on the Pizza Rev Fundraiser. The briefing will be rescheduled for another night.
Sharon Freeman presented an update on our Interact Club at Knight High School. The Club will be sending six Board Members to our next meeting along with coordinator Joy McCall. Barbara Frazier will also be attending with two Lancaster Interact Club Members. Chuck has contacted the shirt company in regards to the Interact Club wanting 23 more Interact Club shirts. A price reduction is possible with printing limited to one side of the shirt. Chuck will try to get a copy of the colors available for printing.
President Sam Garcia reviewed the weekly emails with the Club. Our Club Donation for Rotoplast for this year has been sent. Again, May 18, 2019 is the date for the Super Build in Mexico for the 2018-2019 Rotary year.
Chuck Church continued efforts to coordinate with Walmart and McDonalds regarding the Children’s Shopping Spree in December. He was able to meet with Diana the Manager at McDonalds but Peter was unavailable at Walmart. Chuck edited the request letter for both businesses to provide to each Store Manager. He will continue to try to contact Peter at Walmart.
