Meeting Recap 12/04/19
 
The Rotary Club of Antelope Valley conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 4 December 2019.  The meeting was called to order by Don Ryan at 6:59 PM.  Members in attendance were Sam Garcia, Karen Schultz, Chuck Church, Tina Borzage, Sharon Freeman and Don Ryan.  Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM. 
 
Don Ryan opened the formal meeting with the Flag Salute, a Prayer and the 4 Way Test.  
 
Secretary Sharon Freeman read the Minutes from the November Board meeting.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the Minutes of November 6, 2019.  The Minutes were approved.
 
Tina Borzage presented the Treasurer’s report for the month ending 30 November 2019.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the Treasurer’s Report for November 2019.  The Report was approved.  The Club’s new account at Mission Bank is in full operation.  Tina Borzage will continue to keep the account at Union Bank opened for one more month and then close the account.     
 
Sharon Freeman reported on the status of the Children Christmas Shopping Spree.  We have 25 children identified for the event.  Assignments were handed out to the Club Members for the shopping spree this Saturday.  It was brought up to remember to bring name tags for the children, felt tip pens and other incidentals.  Chuck has made final contact with Walmart and McDonalds for this year’s Christmas Shopping Spree.  
 
Don Ryan mentioned contributions to Yellen School of over 1,500 books.  He also mentioned clothing donated to Mental Health America (MHA) valued at $2.000.00.  Chuck Church mentioned that Judy Cooperberg from MHA is preparing a proposal for the Club to support her organization. 
 
Chuck Church presented samples of new name badges for the Club with out new name: The Rotary Club of Antelope Valley.  The cost will be $10.00 each.  It was decided to wait until all Club Members had been contacted before placing our order with Palmdale Trophy.  Russell-Hampton was essentially the same price but with an additional $40 set up charge and shipping to Palmdale.
 
It was determined that with all the activity being planned for the Children’s Shopping Spree that the Club would postpone the annual Christmas Dinner Meeting until some time in January.
