Meeting Recap 12/05/18
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 05 December 2018. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, David Maddock, David’s daughter Lisa Catlitt, Rosana Budd and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:17 PM.
Secretary Janice Garcia read the Minutes from the November meeting. The Minutes were approved.
Tina Borzage presented the November Treasurer’s Report. The report was approved.
President Sam Garcia covered weekly emails. The major point of discussion was the follow up of the District Governor’s newsletter. The end of the 2nd Quarter of the Rotary Year is quickly approaching. Sam reminded everyone of the upcoming joint project at Pizza Rev. Each Club will get a share of the profits from the sales at Pizza Rev on December 8, 2018. The possible merger of AV Sunrise, Rosamond and Palmdale Rotary into one club will be put on hold until early January when all the Clubs and meet and discuss their concerns. The merger was well received by the Palmdale Club but needs further clarification on times and meeting dates for the new organization.
Sam and Janice reviewed the events of the Children’s Shopping Spree on December 1, 2018. Children from 23 families made it to the event and were treated to breakfast at McDonalds and shopping at Walmart. Volunteer teachers and Interact Club members attended to help as shopping partners and wrappers for the kids. Santa made a surprise visit and handed out gifts to the kids as well as posing for pictures. Both McDonalds and Walmart were very gracious with the help and cooperation.

The Club dinner and gift exchange will take place and Sam and Janice’s home on
December 12, 2018 in place of the regular weekly meeting.
