Meeting Recap 04/03/19
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 3 April 2019. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:35 PM. Members in attendance were Janice Garcia, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, Charlene Melchers, Gene Melchers, Bernie Longjohn, Anne Longjohn, Chuck Church, Karen Schultz, Don Ryan and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 6:55 PM.
President Sam Garcia opened the meeting with information passed down from weekly emails from District 5300 and the Governor. The Governor requested that the Club have at least 3-4 Members attend the District Assembly and the District Conference. Sam also mentioned that he had sent a note to Barbara Sellon that the Club selected April 17 as their choice for mandatory training.
There was no Board Meeting held in February due to the District Governor’s visit and no Board Meeting in March due to the Governor Elect’s visit (Luanne Arredondo), thus there were no minutes to be read or approved.
Tina Borzage presented the Treasurer’s Reports for February and March. The reports were approved. Details will be included in the minutes of the April Board Meeting.
Don Ryan reviewed assignments for the upcoming AV Sunrise Rotary’s Sunday Funday event on April 14th at the country club starting at 11:30 AM. Those Club Members planning to help set up should be at the Country Club at 9:00 AM. Don also announced that the Lancaster Sunrise Rotary will be holding a “Rolling for Rotary” bowling fundraiser on Sunday, April 28th.
