Meeting Recap 05/29/19
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 29 May 2019. The meeting was called to order by Sam Garcia at 6:40 PM. Members in attendance were Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, Charlene Melchers, Gene Melchers, Don and Vickie Ryan, Chuck Church, Karen Schultz, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. Guests included Belle and Rory Larsen. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM.
President Sam Garcia began the meeting with the weekly emails from RI and District. The main focus of the week was the last Appreciation Party for outgoing District Governor John Chase and his wife Elizabeth. The event will be on July 13th at Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant in Las Vegas.
The Melchers, the Garcia’s and Sharon Freeman were able to attend the Bobby Oh fundraiser on the 26th of May. Sam presented the Club’s check for $1,800 to Bobby Oh to help support the music program at Antelope Elementary School. Several sets of kids were there to perform on drums and keyboards.
The final item of discussion for the evening was to determine meeting dates and locations for meetings in July. Details will be finalized in June.
