Meeting Recap 08/28/19

The Antelope Valley Rotary Club conducted their weekly meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 28 August 2019.  The meeting was called to order by President Gene Melchers at 6:30 PM.  Members in attendance were Charlene Melchers, Janice Garcia, Sam Garcia, Chuck Church, Don Ryan, Vickie Ryan, Rory Larsen, Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage and Gene Melchers.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM.

Charlene Melchers reminded everyone to continue selling their fundraiser Monday Night Football tickets and turn in their money and player information.

Sharon Freeman passed out tickets for the Oktoberfest, Bonus Raffle Tickets and flyers for the event.  She reminded everyone that we cannot advertise the location of the event in order to prevent being overwhelmed with guests.  Admission is by reserved ticket only.  Food for Oktoberfest has been selected.  We just need to have a head count before purchasing the food.

The Club will continue to revise its budget and select projects that can be successfully accomplished.  Gene is still working to set up planning sessions to create a strategic plan for the new Club to move forward.

Gene has the paperwork for the new bank account and will work with Tina and Charlene to complete the application with signatures and get our new account established with Mission Bank.

The Club will be selling hot dogs at the Septemberfest on September 21, 2019 at Glendower Park in Rosamond.

Don Ryan is completing the paperwork for the Club’s request for a Lefler Grant.  Chuck Church will be preparing the paperwork for the Club’s request for our Los Angeles County Grant.

There was no additional Old Business or New Business.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM.
