MEETING RECAP 9/21/16
 
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler Restaurant in Palmdale on 21 September 2016.  The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM.  Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Tina Borzage, David Maddock, Lori Troise, Brandon Youngblood, Yolanda Risch and Chuck Church.  Guests for the evening included Bobby “O” (Music Instructor), Mr. Molina and Mr. Cepeda from the Antelope Elementary School.  Everyone enjoyed dinner.  The formal meeting began at 7:00.   
 
Per the agenda, Bobby “O”, Mr. Molina and Mr. Cepeda briefed the Club on the status and future of the music program at Antelope Elementary School.  Two fundraisers plus additional support will be needed to keep the program going.  Sharon Freeman made a motion to support the school with a donation of $250.  Lori Troise seconded the motion and it was approved.  The funds are to be used for the purchase of piano books and music stands.     
 
Sharon Freeman collected funds from the sale of Oktoberfest tickets and raffle tickets. 
 
Chuck Church briefed the Club on the information passed down from the monthly President’s Meeting.  The 27th Annual District 5300 Peace Conference will be on 01 October 2016 in San Dimas, CA.  It is open to all, but you must register on DACdb, cost is $20.  PREP (PrePETS) is on 29 October 2016.  Location has not yet been finalized.  The District Governor’s visit is scheduled for 07 December 2016 for our Club.
 
Chuck Church presented the response from Jerry Tambe regarding the Club’s questions about sponsoring a Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarship.  The Club will have to pay a flat fee of $250 to cover administrative costs.  The Club decided to have Mr. Tambe visit our club and provide additional details.
 
There was no Old Business or New Business.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM.
