Meeting Recap 02/08/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 8 February 2017. The meeting was called to order by President Chuck Church at 6:35 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, Sam Garcia, Janice Garcia, David Maddock, Tina Borzage, Laureano Flores, Brandon Youngblood, Lori Troise and Chuck Church. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 6:50.
The status of our two RYLA students was discussed. Their camp fees are paid. The students are registered. Members of our Club will be attending a meeting in Lancaster of RYLA students and their parents to discuss the camp. The date has not yet been set for the meeting. Barbara Fraser is our contact for RYLA in Lancaster.
The Club’s upcoming Spring Blowout Sale is scheduled for April 9, 2017 at Four Points. Chuck has requested a booth at the Swap Meet. Joyce Bruce will see that we get a very good location. Everyone needs to continue to gather goods for the sale.
Sharon Freeman led a detailed discussion on membership and what we can do to increase the number of members in our Club. Several good ideas were brought forward during the discussion. It was decided that each member would try to contact one person (other than a family member) and get a commitment to attend one of our Club Meetings. The specific meeting date has not yet been determined.
Old Business:
Chuck Church reported that he has contacted Veronica Jordan a second time about
attending one of our Club Meetings. He suggested February 8th or February 15th but
has not received an e-mail response from Veronica.

Chuck Church reported that he had booked the Lake Tahoe Resort for the Young
Family with their first choice of dates. He sent them a reservation date notice and will
follow up with a written confirmation number from the Ridge Resorts as soon as the
Resort mails the confirmation number.
