Meeting Recap 01/17/18
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 17 January 2018. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Holly Liebenow, Tina Borzage, guest Jim Micelli and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 6:57.
After introducing guest Jim Micelli from the Studio City Club, President Sam Garcia made a minor change to the agenda. Holly Liebenow will be making her presentation to our club at next week’s meeting. The first item of business was to ensure that District 5300 emails are being received by the members. President Sam Garcia queried the Members to ensure that email addresses were correct in DACdb.
The second item of business was to discuss the upcoming RYLA Camp. Sharon Freeman indicated that Palmdale Rotary will be sending two students to RYLA Camp. It is most likely that our students will come from our Interact Club at Pete Knight High School.
The third item of business was to discuss the PETS activities with Dave Maddock. PETS is scheduled for February 8-11 at the LAX Marriott. No one will be attending the President’s Advance meetings.
Old Business:
Under Old Business, Dave Maddock explained his idea of a project to help the
Animal Shelter in Palmdale. The goal was to help the shelter and promote Palmdale
Rotary by getting additional exposure.
