Meeting Recap 10/04/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their monthly Board meeting at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale on 4 October 2017. Full details of the meeting will be presented at next month’s Board meeting when the minutes are read and approved. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 7:10 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Chuck Church, Tina Borzage, Holly Liebenow, Janice Garcia and Sam Garcia. The formal meeting began at 7:15 PM.
Per the agenda, the minutes of the September Board meeting were read by Janice Garcia. The minutes were approved.
Tina Borzage presented the September Treasurer’s Report. The report was approved.
Following the presentation of the Minutes and the Treasurer’s Report, a motion was made and seconded to transfer $5,000.00 in funds from the General Account to the Trust Account. The motion was approved.
The primary item for general discussion was to review the results of the Oktoberfest and dispose of the leftover items. Several Members offered to purchase the leftover drinks from the event. The monies from the sale of leftover drinks will be added to the final accounting for the event. The Club still needs to collect funds from the visiting Rotary Clubs that attended the Oktoberfest.
The Club discussed the upcoming Bubble Lady event at Manzanita Pre-School on Monday, October 9, 2017. There will be two shows: one at 9:45 and the other at 12:00. Everyone who can, should try to attend.
Sharon Freeman brought the Club up to date on the status of the Knight High School Interact Club. Paperwork has been submitted for their Charter and everything is progressing nicely. The Club is thinking of having an event to recognize the new Interact Club of Knight High School. A date will be established at next week’s meeting.
