Meeting Recap 11/08/17
The Rotary Club of Palmdale conducted their weekly meeting at Sizzler’s Restaurant in Palmdale on 8 November 2017. The meeting was called to order by President Sam Garcia at 6:30 PM. Members in attendance were: Sharon Freeman, David Maddock, Chuck Church, Janice Garcia, Holly Liebenow, Yolanda Risch and Sam Garcia. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The formal meeting began at 7:00.
The first item of business was to discuss the upcoming Children’s Shopping Spree at Walmart. Sharon Freeman made calls to all coordinators to confirm that their volunteers were in place. We are planning on 10 students from Keppel School District, 5 students from Valerie Lensing, 5 Students from Elsa Pina, and 4 Students from Holly Liebenow.
The next item of business was to discuss the upcoming Rotary Club Christmas Party. We will be having the party at Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Palmdale. We will be selecting our meals from a special menu that Gino’s will provide. We created an invitation list including the District Governor and anyone she would like to bring. Our Interact Club and Joy McCall will be invited as well. We will be doing the usual gift exchange ($20 wrapped gift) with only two Take-Aways allowed. The party will be from 6 to 9 PM with time allotted for Raghada to meet with the Club at 5:30 if needed.
Chuck Church has been working with a T Shirt vendor to get shirts for our new Interact Club. We will be ordering the minimum of 12 shirts, in three colors with silk screening on both front and back. We will be deleting the 2017-2018 date so that the shirts will be good until the Club decides to make a change. Chuck will pay for the shirts through our Rotary Club. Tina will generate the check for the vendor when the final price is determined.
